Sunrise at Eternity Beach

Out shooting with the photo meet up group. It was a colorful sunrise for a few brief moments last Sunday.

I am not an avid bird stalker although on my recent trip to the Big Island we did spend several hours waiting for the cute teeny tiny Hawaiian Birds to make an appearance. They are super quick not staying at any one flower for long. It was an experience!!!

Onomea Falls

Onomea Bay and the Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden near Hilo. It is a must see if you are near Hilo. Amazingly beautiful.

Big Island Petroglyphs and Lava Tube

We climbed down into the lava tube were we could easily walk around.. (when I wasn't tripping over the loose rocks). Set up our tripods in the far back area of the tube. It was amazingly flat with a nice shelf for our gear. What a bonus!!

The Petroglyphs were located near the entrance to the Lava Tube.

An amazing way to spend a long weekend. Out shooting photos with friends on the Big Island. Gotta love it!!!!

Bill e mailed me the info.....It is called Angel's Trumpet from the Brugmansia family. All parts are poisonous. :)

Ginger

White and Yellow Ginger plus a little fun with Photoshop!


Today was a stroll thru Lyon Aboretum. Both Yellow and White Ginger are used to make beautiful lei. It is amazing the difference in the fragrance. My favorite... I vote for the White Ginger.....beautiful... and not as easy to find as the Yellow Ginger.

I know... Amazing a new post!!!! Almost forgot how to post to my blog it has been so long. :)

Last Saturday morning - Tsunami Warning.. No I didn't head for the beach just because all the sirens were going off and the police were everywhere.... I had gotten up before the commotion to shoot the sunrise with a friend from the mainland that was staying in Waikiki. No sunrise shots however, we did have a wonderful breakfast at a hotel on the beach!!!! took a few photos of an empty Waikiki, enjoyed the beautiful morning and then headed for higher ground since they evacuated the area and closed all of the roads in and around Waikiki. It was quite a day.. Thank goodness no Tsunami but lots of excitement.. Aloha, Renee :)

Two of my favorite wines that I brought back from California.

My best shooting buddy and friend Annie threatened me if I did not post something to my blog tonight after our get together at the beach with the wines!!! :) Actually she made me process the images at her house and I couldnt go home until I posted something to my blog. WOW!! WEEE!!! :) Well at least I must admit that I am inspired to get back into shooting and posting on my blog again now that I am back in Hawaii. :)

Soooo Since the shoot and posting is done maybe we can even have some wine .. YUM!!! :) Thanks Annie for insisting that I get going again... :) It really was lots of fun :)

This little bird was the only one of its kind hanging out in the treesnwatching the brid feeder at my mom's house in Calif. I have no clue what it is... but it was my favorite one of the bunch.... :)
