Today at Foster Gardens in Honolulu.. I have never macro'd a bug but this preying mantas was fun... ok well interesting at least. But when you view it in Photoshop it feels like they are crawling on you... Kind of icky!! :) :) It was a rainy overcast day and not a lot of flowers.. so I thought I would post something totally different. :) :)

Cool! This is a change for you for sure! They are a strange looking creature up close.

Chad & I shot one of these guys when he was up for his visit. He got by far the best image. I'm still waiting for him to post it.

Hi Renee, the Mantis is really a fascinating creature. He almost looks like a cartoon of himself. Great macro. its fun to try something different once in a while.

Well done. I've never tried a macro of an insect before. This one is terrific.

What a mean looking little critter! Hmmm...yep. I think I may like it better in landscape orientation than portrait. :oP
