Long, long, long icy hike on the upper falls trail. It was amazing since the water was just falling into a snow drift. You could not see where the pool of water was at the bottom of the falls. A very steep and icy hike. The views are worth it. The bottom photo is also the upper falls shot on Thursday. The snow melt from Thursday to Saturday is amazing. Just compare the two photos.

Diamond Head and Dragons
Diamond Head in the background and colorful Dragon Boats on Waikiki Beach. AT&T is the annual sponsor of the Dragon Boat Races. Thought I would add a little infomation about the races from the AT&T website. Hope you enjoy today's shot. The origin of dragon boat racing can be traced to the fourth century B.C., when Chinese fishermen would host festival ceremonies to ensure plentiful crops. Dragon boat racing is similar to outrigger canoe racing in that paddling teams compete against each other in timed heats. Dragon boat crews consist of 16 paddlers, a drummer, a steersperson and a flag catcher. Competitors race to a central finish line where the flag catcher retrieves a flag from a buoy and carries it to the finish line.
This 2,000-year-old Chinese tradition came to life June 15, 1996 in Honolulu at Ala Moana Beach Park during the first annual AT&T Hawaii Dragon Boat Festival. The festival, which is popular worldwide, featured races between traditional, multicolored boats decorated with fierce dragon heads, tails and scaly bodies. Crews of 19 entered the races to compete in a sport that was virtually unknown in Hawaii.

This was not the shot that I was going to post, but when my daughter got home after the game she wanted me to share this shot vs the action one. High School soccer!! Yup they roll down the tops of their shorts and leave the tags hanging out the back. It is quite comical. Soccer, what a sport, they tied tonite 2-2.

Sunset at Diamond Head Lighthouse. Not the usual view of the lighthouse or the typical sunset shot. Wanted to try something different using the palm tree and plumera tree as a partial framing and see if the small sliver of moon could be seen. Not sure if I really like it but hey why not try a new view... Hope you enjoy it. :)
